UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF LAW AND RESEARCH

The University School of Law and Research is an initiative of USTM to impart quality education in legal discipline in the region with the approval of the Bar Council of India. The Global scenario of Legal education has witnessed a significant change in approach and a remarkable growth. Legal education in India too, has readily adapted to the global demands and our institution has geared up to meet the global challenges by harnessing the latest technologies in the field of legal education. Our law school programmes are based on contemporary legal developments merged with traditional doctrines and Jurisprudences, unlimited academic freedom and diverse choices of course combinations. In the endeavour of fulfilling the dreams of our founder Chancellor and visionary Mahbubul Hoque, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya is dedicated to its responsibility of creating a global knowledge disseminating hub. The core values of the School are derived from its engagements in high quality research and innovative teaching methods to meet the online educational needs. The University went a step ahead and the databases of the library were enriched to extend remote access of knowledge for all our students throughout the country. Even during Covid -19 pandemic our students have performed well in all fields of the profession and are the torch bearers of distinction in their respective fields of specialisation. To focus on contemporary social requirements and realities, the School over the years, has adopted a number of areas in its UG and PG Programme. Accordingly, it has shifted its focus to highlight the inter relationship of Law with Science and Technology, Human Rights, Intellectual Property Rights, Consumer Law, International Trade and Commercial Law, International Law, Constitution and Administrative Law aspects. The University strive to accomplish greater heights and opportunities in life. I extend my best wishes to the faculty members and students of USLR and look forward to welcoming the new students.
